Write down two versions
An Apple TV IPTV update check starts with two separate questions: is the television box awaiting a system update, and does the installed player have an app update? Before changing anything, note the Apple TV model, the displayed tvOS version and the player's version if available. Add the exact symptom, such as an app closing or a menu failing to load. These notes give support a useful starting point without exposing account details.
Finish the official update first
Use Apple's system-update guide to find Software Updates under System in Settings. Keep power and the network connected until installation finishes. For the player, Apple's separate app guide points to Purchased in the App Store, then the chosen app's Update control. Follow the relevant guide for your model and allow an offered update to complete before reopening the existing player. Do not interrupt an installation to start a viewing check.
Compare one familiar action
After completion, open the same player and try one programme you are permitted to access. Record whether the original symptom remains and which version changed. Avoid adding a new player, deleting the existing one or resetting the box during this comparison. An update is maintenance, not a promise that a viewing problem will disappear. If it persists, send support the model, versions and a brief description, keeping passwords and private playlist addresses out of screenshots.
